Make
a Souvenir BookletHere is a handy souvenir booklet you can use to share the AJ Meerwald story with your friends. It folds up to a convenient size. I carry one in my wallet all the time. I enjoy people's reactions when I tell them it's my boat! To make one for yourself, follow these instructions:
Click on the picture of the cover on the left and you will open a new window with the full-sized graphic. It may take a minute or so to load as it's rather large. I suggest you read the rest of these instructions while it loads. Once the image has completely loaded, print out a copy. Make sure the window is active by clicking somewhere on the page and then on the menu at the top of the window select File>Print. The image is scaled to fit on a standard sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper.
Now the fun part: Take a pair of scissors or better yet and X-acto knife and a straight edge. Carefully cut around the edge of the image and slice along the dotted line. Refer to the diagram below. Fold the paper as indicated along fold lines. In a mountain-fold the fold comes toward you, valley-folds go away from you. Confused? Ask someone who does origami (my wife taught me the jargon).

I thought for a long time for a way to explain the magic of transforming the flat sheet of paper into this little booklet. At last I realized that I can't put it into words. Therefore I have created the following animation to take you the rest of the way. All I will say is that no adhesives are required; it's all in the folds. Good luck!
